Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Tripett?
Tripett is the ONLY, pure green tripe in a can with no fillers or artificial ingredients. Green tripe is the unbleached, un-cleaned stomach and stomach contents of ruminant animals such as cattle. It is the food dogs were built to consume. They thrive on it. Tripett is the easiest way to serve green tripe and dogs can’t resist the taste. Palatibility is excellent.
Why tripe?
Just like their wolf counterpart in the wild, a dog has an instinctive desire to eat the nutrient-rich stomach and stomach-contents of other animals. It supplies dogs with unmatched nutrition. In the wild, carnivorous animals do not eat vegetables. Instead, they eat the stomachs of omnivorous and herbivorous animals to get the nutrients from food they do not normally eat themselves. Everything that that animal had eaten previously is stored in the tripe in the form of nutrients. With Tripett, dogs get the benefits from the grasses and grains eaten and digested by the cow, as well as additional digestive enzymes and stomach juices, essential fatty acids, amino acids and balanced minerals and vitamins.
I only feed dry kibble and don't feed canned foods. Why should I use Tripett?
Tripett is the ultimate supplement to your current feeding program. It significantly improves digestion so your dog can maximize all of its food. Tripett can be mixed with dry or raw food and is canned for convenience only. It is the easiest method to serve green tripe. Buying it frozen and serving it raw is much more tedious and messy.
Is green tripe the same tripe I can find in the grocery store?
No! Green tripe has not been bleached like the tripe in the grocery stores. By leaving it "green", the tripe retains all of the nutrients from the partially digested grasses and grains in the stomach. Although it may look and smell less pleasant, it is much healthier for your pet.
Is it cooked?
We start with raw green tripe, but the canning process uses heat. Therefore, Tripett is technically "cooked". However, we use minimal heat and lab tests on the final product show that the beneficial nutrients have been retained after the canning process. The many testimonials over 16 years from happy owners speak volumes.
Is it a complete food?
Although Tripett is nutritionally complete, variety is recommended in any dog’s diet. To ensure maximum nutrition, we recommend that Tripett is used everyday and supplemented with a quality dry or raw food.
My dog has allergies. Is Tripett Ok?
Tripett contains very few ingredients. Many dog foods contain a long list of ingredients that your animal may be allergic to. Most allergic animals have reactions to corn, rice, soy, or wheat. These are very unnatural foods for dogs to digest which explains their rejection to them. Tripett has proven to be very acceptable with allergic dogs.
My dog is really picky. How should I first start with Tripett?
Start with small amounts of Tripett either by itself or mixed with your regular dry food. Your dog will love it.
Can my cat eat Tripett?
Cats love tripe as well. Tripett contains adequate Taurine necessary for cats and is also low in ash and magnesium.
Where do you get the green tripe?
All of our tripe comes from federally inspected facilities and from cattle that is human-grade.
Is feeding green tripe well known?
Green tripe is quite popular amongst breeders, show handlers, and owners who feed BARF diets (biologically appropriate raw food). Dogs with green tripe in their diets display a better coat and an overall healthier appearance. Many blue ribbons have been won over the years by dogs that have green tripe included in their diets. Tripett is also common with owners that have picky eaters or allergic animals.

Tripett is intended to be supplemented with good quality raw or dry food. It can be offered along with the meaty bones, muscle organs and meat of a raw diet or with commercial dry food (i.e. pellets, kibble). Adding Tripett to each serving will greatly increase your pet's enjoyment of its meals.
The proportions of tripe to commercial food can range from 25% tripe to 75% commercial food, or be as high as 75% tripe and 25% commercial food.
It is recommended that most dogs, especially large breeds, be fed twice a day to minimize the dangers of bloating.
Because tripe contains strong stomach juices and partially fermented stomach contents, it does give off a strong smell, but animals love it! Any unused portion of Tripett should be stored in a tightly sealed container and refrigerated.
From the moment you put the bowl down you'll see the positive effects on your canine or feline family member!
